Current Priority: Aligning Veteran Recognition for NOAA & USPHS Officers
Michigan law does not recognize commissioned officers of the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) as veterans — even though federal law (38 USC) does. These four House bills would correct that gap.
Our primary target is HB 5280 — it has the least opposition and does not rely on redefining "veteran." Bills marked Committee target specific committee members. Bills marked My District will contact your own state representative and senator based on your address.
